Children's Court Assistance Scheme

The Children's Court Assistance Scheme operates every Monday and other days as required at Port Kembla Children's Court providing support to young people through the court process.

We provide the following services and assistance:

  Provide support and court information to young people & their families Children's Court Assistance Scheme. Click to enlarge.
   Answer questions about the court process
   Help fill out Legal Aid applications
   Assist young people to find a duty solicitor
   Explain the court process
   Explain outcomes reached at court
  Refer young people to appropriate community support services
   Accompany young people into court on request

Interpreters

Interpreters are arranged by the Court staff and need to be booked ahead of time. You can call the Telephone Interpreter service on 131450 and ask them to call the Clerk of the Court at Port Kembla Children’s Court on 4274 0735 or 4274 0754 to confirm that an interpreter will be booked for you.
